Austria Culture & Spa week 8 days |

| Day 1-2 Travel early evening by high speed Eurostar train from London to Frankfurt with onward travel by modern German sleeper to Vienna. The Austrian train arrives 9 am, stay for 2 nights at the 4 star Tyrol, a small luxury hotel recommended for great service and well appointed rooms. This centrally situated boutique hotel is on the Mariahilferstrasse, the main shopping street and within walking distance of the Museum quarter. Day 3 A day in Vienna to explore the historic buildings of the Austro-Hungarian empire ruled by the Habsburgs. Visit the Schonbrunn palace, the Stephansdom or the Spanish Riding school (not July, August), enjoy the world famous Sachertorte at a tearoom. Alternatively experience the view from the original Ferris wheel or take a trip on the not so blue Danube! |
Day 4 A varied train journey along the Danube and the Alps by the new faster Railjet train to Innsbruck, where a car will take you to the remote alpine spa hotel of Interalpen 40 minutes away. From the moment you arrive, there is a sense of luxury with glittering chandeliers. The huge spa area of some 5000 square metres offers a full range of treatments, an authentic hammam and a panoramic pool which stretches both in and out of the hotel. Days 5-6 Outdoor activities in winter include skiing, ice skating even a romantic sleigh ride! In summer not only is there hiking in the National Park, but the hotel also offers golf, tennis, riding and cycling. Within the hotel experience the Tyrolean Sauna village where you can enjoy a herbal bath or the romantic Old Salt room with ‘liquid sound’. Days 7-8 Short ride by car to Innsbruck for leisurely train journey in the late afternoon to Munich. Return by overnight sleeper and Eurostar to arrive back in London next day around 10 am. |
